Speaker Bio

Rauful Alam is a medicinal chemist and research leader with extensive experience across academia and the pharmaceutical industry in the United States. Dr. Rauful Alam

He currently serves as a Staff Scientist in Medicinal Chemistry at the University of Chicago Center for Chemical Biology and Therapeutics, where his work focuses on advancing chemical biology and drug discovery. Prior to this, he held key scientific leadership roles at PTC Therapeutics, contributing to the development of therapies for rare diseases.

He completed his postdoctoral research at the University of Pennsylvania under the mentorship of Prof. Gary A. Molander, building a strong foundation in modern organic and medicinal chemistry.

Beyond research, he is widely recognized for his impactful Bengali-language science communication, inspiring thousands of young learners and early-career researchers through education, writing, and mentorship—bridging the gap between scientific knowledge and real-world application.
